Alizah TariqOutreach Team
Salaam! My name is Alizah Tariq, a fourth year undergraduate majoring in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology with a minor in Public Health at the University at Albany. I’m in an undergraduate research lab with a current focus on how standards for environmental enrichment for lab rodents may be too restrictive, thereby negatively impacting research quality by making lab rodents less representative of typical humans and therefore less valid models of human diseases. My other academic interests include medicine, mental health and health disparities and inequities. On campus, I serve on our MSA e-board and am involved in student peer education and assistance hotline known as Middle Earth. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, learning Arabic calligraphy, reading and enjoying the outdoors!.
