Ustadha Fatemah Meghji

Instructor, Mizan Institute, az-Zahraa Islamic Academy, and Islamic Literary

Fatemah Meghji is based in her hometown, Vancouver, Canada (on unceded Coast Salish territories). She received her BA in English Literature and Religious Studies from the University of British Columbia in 2010. She then studied at Jamiat al-Zahra in Qum starting in 2011 and completed the MA program in Qur'anic Tafsir and Qur'anic Sciences 2017. Currently, she teaches at the Mizan Institute, the Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy, and Islamic Literacy. She is the founder of and is currently working on a book which is an extended version of her long-form article on human evolution in the Shi'ite tradition. Her research interests include usul al-tafsir, Qur'anic hermeneutics, postmodern ethics, and women in the tradition
